Renato's first memory of motorsport was trackside, watching Ayrton Senna qualify at the Adelaide Grand Prix, when he was just 4 years old. Growing up in Brisbane, his father frequently took him to watch racing at Lakeside and Surfers Paradise raceway, further developing his love for the sport.
This passion combined with his extensive knowledge, has, over the years translated into some exceptional results on and off the track. At the age of 10, he was one of Australia’s top drivers for 1/8th scale "gas" radio-controlled cars, funded largely out of the pocket money he earned assembling chainsaws and brushcutters for his fathers business.
Since the age of 15, Renato has been driving various race/sports cars at almost all of the circuits in Australia.
He won the QLD Lotus Trophy "Chance of a lifetime" competition convincingly. Breaking the lap record by more than half a second, twice, in two different cars and completing over 60 laps with robot-like consistency.
In 2007, Renato made the most succesful debut in the history of the Australian Performance Car Championship, finishing 5th outright in his first round, in a car over 3 years old.
Having completed studies in mechanical engineering and I.T., Renato has a very analytical and methodical approach to motorsport. Coupled with his hands-on mechanical skills, Renato's knowledge of car setup, vehicle dynamics and modern data aquisition systems gives him the edge over competitors.
What really sets Renato apart from the rest is his eagerness to help other drivers. In 2007 he coached two drivers to National category championship wins.
Renato is also a respected Performance Driving Instructor for Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, Lexus and at various High-Peformance "track days" Australia wide.
When he's not increasing his carbon footprint, Renato puts his I.T. skills to good use, developing websites for and consulting to a number of companies in the corporate world.
